Hit.

We all go through the tedious workings of day-to-day existence not really understanding what is truly in our hearts. Most of the time, we refuse to acknowledge the darkness that is hiding behind the light. Maybe it's because we don't have the time to to do so, or maybe because we don't want to or are afraid to recognize our weaknesses. It's easier to exist by pretending we are fine, because then we don't have to depend on anyone to catch us once we let ourselves fall. Because we are afraid that if we allow ourselves, no one would be there.

Sometimes, all it takes is for someone to say it out loud. To put into words what you cannot seem to bring yourself to say -- or maybe even refuse to say . Sometimes, it hits you when and where you least expect it. It comes when you are least prepared, and you suddenly find yourself stuck in a hole not knowing how to deal with it.

"There is in certain living souls a quality of loneliness unspeakable, so great it must be shared as company is shared by lesser beings. Such a loneliness is mine; so know by this, that in immensity, there is one lonelier than you....

She said nothing, but it was as if a light came from her, more light and far less shadow than ever the practiced moon could cast. Among the many things it meant was that even to loneliness there is an end, for those who are lonely enough, long enough."

~ Theodore Sturgeon (A Saucer of Loneliness)

That. Hit. Home.

I knew this book was trouble when I first saw it.

  • Mood: Lonely

deviantID

I am an unconventional nonconformist enigmatic rebel with many causes, dramatic interludes, occasional ADD tendencies and a highly segmented lifestyle. I'm as rare as rare can be, definitely far from ordinary. Life is complex, and so am I.

In other words, I'm insane.

But then again, insanity can be seductive. Muaha.
